Utmost Twitter Poetry Contest ~ Ends 12/31 ($2 to enter)

$200 in Cash Prizes – $2 Entry Fee
Rules for the Twitter Poetry Contest:

1. Your Twitter Poem must be no more than 140 characters in length, including the title. (Title is optional.) A "character" is any letter of the alphabet, any punctuation mark, or any numerical digit. A space between words is also a character.

You can measure the length of your poem by going to this page, pasting your poem into the field, then clicking "Count Characters."

Example Poem:
Mary had a little lamb;
Its fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went
That lamb was sure to go.
The poem above has 109 characters. Spaces between words and punctuation are also characters.

2. Your poem must be your original work, not someone else's work.

3. Your poem must not be available for public reading anywhere on the Internet (except www.utmostchristianwriters.com) prior to December 31, 2008.

4. Your poem must be sent via our submission form. If you do not follow this instruction we will not accept your entry. Be sure to provide an email address where you can be reached if you are a winner.

We will not accept entries by postal mail for our Twitter poem contest, and all payments must be made by PayPal. Please do not ask us to make exceptions.

5. The fee for each entry to this contest is $2. You can enter as many poems as you wish ($2 each), but please re-use the entry form for each entry.

6. The entry deadline for Twitter poems is December 31, 2008. We must receive your entry and payment by that date.

7. Poems may be rhymed or free verse. Poems will be judged for originality, poetic quality and literary excellence.

8. We will award two (2) prizes of $80 each, and two (2) prizes of $20 each.
• One $80 and one $20 prize will be awarded for poems with religious content. (Bible personality, theology, testimony, praise, etc)
• One $80 and one $20 prize will be awarded for poems with general content. (i.e. nature, relationship, etc)

Judges will determine categories for entries during judging.

9. Winners will be announced at this web site on January 11, 2008. All prizes will be awarded.

10. By entering our contest, you authorize us to post your poems for public viewing at our discretion, although you retain all other rights to your work.

11. Winners will be contacted by email, and prizes will be sent to winners by first class postal mail.
