A little history… I’m on Twitter as @skydiver.The morning of December 24th, I figured I could kill two birds with one stone. I figured I could clean out my office, and by doing so, give away via Twitter all the “SWAG” that I’d collected over the year from loyal HARO members, advertisers, and the like. Seemed like a good idea.
So the night before, I posted this to Twitter. Within 30 minutes, I had over 400 new followers. Apparently, everyone retweeted, and people who’d never heard of me or HARO started following me in droves. “Cool!” I thought.
The next morning, I started giving away some stuff. Some soaps from SkinFree, a surge protector from TrippLite, even some travel goodies. The minimal cost of postage was, in my opinion, worth getting my office back and making a few people happy.
But then, something weird started to happen. All of a sudden I got a call from my friend Kelly, the PR rep for the very awesome Ogio line of travel gear. “Peter, want to give away a bag?” “Um, YEAH!” So I did. And all of a sudden, people realized that hey, I just gave away a $150+ bag to some random person who followed me on Twitter! Well, that got the word out.
By 3pm, it was clear that I’d have to do this again - not because I couldn’t get through all the stuff in my office, but because offers of “Hey, I’ll donate _____ as a prize for your next question!” were coming in around one every five minutes.
So in no particular order here’s what’s going to be given away tomorrow. This is a partial list, because prizes are STILL coming in. I’m going to have to ask a question every 10 minutes or something. What hath I wrought? I should also add, note the ski trips. SKI TRIPS!!!

Twitter Charity Challenge - help the Boston Scholars Program ~ ends 12/31

December 1 to 25, every hour on the hour!
NameCheap has always relied on word-of-mouth for marketing, so it's no wonder we love social media tools like Twitter that allow people to easily spread the word.

Twitter is a service for people to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? So, What's the offer?
We've decided we can use Twitter to better keep up with our clients. To kick off our presence on Twitter, we are giving away $17,000 worth of domain and domain transfers in our "The Great NameCheap Twitter Trivia Contest".
How to participate?
Participation is very simple.
Signup on twitter (https://twitter.com/signup) and follow us. We will be posting a trivia question every hour on the hour starting 1st Dec 08 till 25th Dec on twitter. First three to reply to the twit with the correct answer will get a $9.69 credit to their NameCheap account. Simple, isn't it :)
Here's an example:
1) NameCheap will send out a message in twitter that says, "What jolly man gives toys to boys and girls for Christmas?"
2) You can then send a message back that says "@namecheap Santa Claus".
The @ symbol puts it to our attention. If you are one of the first three to answer correctly, we will send $9.69 for a new domain or renewal directly into your NameCheap account.
How to redeem?
The first three to reply to the twit with the correct answer will receive $9.69 credit to their NameCheap account. Winners will be announced on twitter as well. To claim the credit, you should link your NameCheap account to your twitter account and it is simple.
* Login to your NameCheap Account (if you don't have a NameCheap account, you can simply create one at https://www.namecheap.com/signup.aspx -- no credit card necessary)
* After you login, go to 'My Account' > 'Manage Profile' and then choose 'Twitter Integeration' link on the left (https://www.namecheap.com/myaccount/modify-profile-twitter.asp)
* Enter your twitter username and click 'Verify'
* A short code will be sent from NameCheap to your twitter account using a direct message (a message that no one else other than you could see). Note: Unless you follow us we will not be able to send you that code.
* Enter the code on the confirmation page and you are all set with linking the accounts.
* Once linked, you will see a credit on your NameCheap account within few hours after your winning. Enjoy!
Rules
* To avoid having only a few people participate who game the contest, each contestant can win only one domain per day. (But, there is an incentive to keep participating, read more :))

You can't wrap up a domain name and give it to someone else for the holidays. That's why NameCheap is offering 3 iPods to the people who answer the most questions correctly. This does not require you to be one of the first to answer and you can answer as many questions every day in order to add to your tally of correct answers. OK, there's still time on this one! I just checked his Twitter Followers & as of 12/2 at 11:51pm EST he only had 190. It's CLOSE, so let's put him to the 200 mark & get a chance to win.
So I admit it, I’m a Twitter addict. I’m not ashamed of it either.
I’ve also got a spare photo keychain knocking around, new and still boxed. Can you see where this is going yet?

Yup, you guess it. Following in the footsteps of @kevinrose and @alexalbrecht I’m offering free goodies in exchange for Twitter followers ! Admittedly I’m not in the same league as the afore mentioned gents, but I’m still quietly confident it’ll have the desired affect.
Basically, I’m wanting to hit 200 followers on Twitter. At the time of writing this I’m at 162 followers, so not too far to go. Once I hit the magic 200 barrier I’ll pick someone at random and they’ll be the proud owner of a brand spanking new keychain to show off their photos of whatever they choose. Simple eh ?

Dad-o-Matic readers have a chance at doing your own version of ish $500 shopping spree at Kmart. The official rules are here. But in a nutshell, here’s what you can do. One’s a bit of work, and the other is a lot easier (hint, hint).
(1) Place a comment on this blog post. Include a description and SKU or item numbers of items on your holiday wish list that total $500 or less.
